are you guys serious about 9.2 rating? ok i got it that they tried to make a good movie. but that ain't mean 9.2. i will give like 5 or 6. but thats like just for pakistan i think. well keep it up

I agree with you, when i saw watching film and then thought to come and write some comments, i was expecting it to be on high-false votes of 8.5+ and i was right. We are emotional a$$holes and we would rate it anything regardless of quality and precision.

Thats right its worth in my opinion about 7/10. The movie is grossly overstated and overated

Not really, they had to make a pro-Pak propaganda piece, the budget came from the military.
It's all about countering Bollywood's own traditional propaganda against Pak.

At first I rated it 4, then after reading a few reviews, I felt it was indeed even more flawed than I could perceive.
Some Pakistani reviewers helped me realise how bad this movie is indeed, I am grateful for those few people who are not buying into the whole national pride BS out there.
Just read the negative reviews by Pakistanis here and you will know what this movie really deserve.

The funny part is: I then downgraded my rating to '2' and after reloading the page, I found out the general rating had gone down from 9.2 to 9!
Wow, I was thrilled! How could my single vote have such impact?

So I would actually advise folks here who thinks a movie is way overrated to try and balance it by rating it '1'.
If a dozen people rate a movie '1', it is bound to have impact... if a hundred...
And then we can always update our vote later on in case the overall rating becomes reasonable.

Also Waar was released on torrent sites only a few weeks ago, and only in bad quality TVRip since it's not yet on DVD or BluRay.
That means most people have yet to rate it, who will see it after downloading it for free.
In fact this movie is down 1532 place in the iMDB list this week only and will keep going down as more and more viewers decide to rate it.
It should not get more than 7.5 after another year, hopefully less.

I agree. The film is overrated. There's many scenes lacking clear transitions, its full of clichees without real nerve. The script is horrible. For me this is national propaganda gone wrong, simplifying a complex and shady situation within Pakistan. I guess part of the high votes comes from nationalists wanting to see their own product do well, unfortunately this movie would not even compete with a mid-range bollywood movie. After all this criticism though, I must admit that the idea and thematic is very relevant and intersting, just too bad it wasnt given the time, resources(?) and skill needed.

i agree with you, concept of the movie is brilliant after all it's first step towards pakistani film industry. some of the acting and scenes not some of but most of actor didn't act well, it seems to me that the movie was extra overrated. saw many goofs specially last part when the actor was motivating special forces and all were smiling towards him becoz they were real SSG commandos. but as i mentioned earlier concept was good and hope pakistani film industry will oneday compete with Hollywood.
