Half of the dialog is 'Jake!'

I'm only 4 episodes in and the constant screaming of "Jake!" is getting very, very annoying. You would think that after 10 years of the kid not talking, and the ten years of saying his name and him never responding, you would get used to not saying it 10 times a minute to try and get him to respond.

Exactly. I don't think he has ever once responded to it either. I want to count the amount of times they say Jake in each episode. The writers need to seriously address this issue next season. It's really getting annoying.

reply

It has been addressed, don't worry. :)

That's good to hear. I'm only two episodes into it, and I'm already sick of the constant J-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-k-e.
I did consider turning it into a "Hi Bob" drinking game like with the Newhart show.

I totally agree. If college kids made it into a drinking game every time Jake is said, they would end up with alcohol poisoning!

reply

Considering that most of them shouldn't be in college in the first place, it wouldn't be a big loss if they did.

Is it Kiefer constantly saying “Jake, sweetheart” that may be wearing thin on you? Perhaps if he substituted differing terms?

“Jake, schnookums.”

“Jake, bubeleh.”

“Jake, babooshka.”

“Jake, hunny pie.”

“Jake, my boo.”

“Jake, babycakes.”

“Jake, sugar pie honey bunch.”

The constant "Jake" in low voice and other things are really bad for the show... First season was OK, second season is really bad

If you're annoyed about the constant "Jake!" shouts, stop watching. You realize that Martin is calling out to a SMALL, MUTE child who isn't that visible because of his size and can't call back, right?

Sooooo true. That was the most annoying thing with the show and the second one is how breathy Sutherland is in his scripts. I don't remember him always talking so breathy ... maybe it's the running around and screaming "Jaaaaaaaake".

The finale does end well ... so keep watching.

It doesn't surprise me it got cancelled, but I did enjoy watching Keifer's tuchee again, even in touch. Something about him gets me hot and I can't help but picture him butt naked.

The Hasidic Jewish guy too was annoying with his weird type monotone speech. Does anybody really know anybody who speaks like that?

reply

LOL it actually continues till season 2 finale and then it was cancelled lol
You are so right it hurts and as you say the child initially could not even respond or possibly understand why or who this odd man was . It became even weirder when the fanatical Jew constantly spoke his thoughts and actions aloud for all even though the child could not respond...very weird show by season 2 and extremely violent after no violence :<

Watch the Poltergeist franchise movies, and count the times that "carol anne" is uttered....
