Is Touch worth watching despite being cancelled?

I haven't seen a single episode. Some cancelled shows in the past I have gone on to really love, such as Deadwood. And I like watching Kiefer Sutherland, although not enough to watch a lemon that he's in.

The reviews seem mediocre. However is there enough merit in the show to make it worth picking up the boxed set when released?

Many thanks

Yes, I think it was definitely worth watching, different and intriguing. Do you like mystery shows? Did you like Heroes? I loved the first season of that too. I think you definitely recognize Tim Kring's (creator of Heroes and Touch) style.

"Touch" is not bad, but the first episode is awesome. Very well thought out.
There are worse series around, but I don't know where they could go from there, really.
Maybe they should have aimed at two seasons, instead of trying to continue until they were cancelled and then end in a rush
Unfortunately, these days this never happens. A series never has a real "aim".

Battlestar Galactica

Agreed. Just watch the first season. I THOUGHT season 2 would be really good and interesting with a serial arch but it was just a mess. They destroyed a series that had amazing potential into lame corporate conspiracy crap.

Rest in peace Roger Ebert! You will be missed.

Great post!

Season 2 lost the magic, lost the "touch"

Totally agreed with.... @fctiger
TOUCH lost its touch after season 1. They put aside the actual concept of series and converted it into conspiracy...

I only watched season 1 and it mas mediocre at best. There wasn't much of a story arc and each episode was pretty much a closed story, then rinse and repeat. If Kiefer Sutherland wasn't in it, I wouldn't have watched past episode 2. So if people are saying season one is better than 2, no wonder it's been canned!
Now it's gone, It paves way for more 24 awesomeness!

We highly recommend this show. Compared to most tripe offered up on TV, it's very well written and acted. It would be well worth the price for 2 seasons of something different and thought-provoking.

You had a great tone to your words, so I think I will give it a try. Thanks.

Though Season 2 closed on a somewhat satisfying note of closure, I'd say stick with Season 1.

While the final episode leaves some things open for a 3rd season, the finale wraps enough things up to feel like a proper ending. Few shows cancelled after filming get that privilege. In that case, it's worth watching a show that started off as unique (even if it turned into a "24" clone by the end).

I liked both seasons a lot but then I like Tim Kring's writing. I'm disappointed this was cancelled and hope it comes back. Yes, worth watching IMHO.

I think it's definitely a great show! A great storyline with good twists. And everything wrapped up nicely.
