NOT for children.

I was surprised and appalled that this animated movie with cute animals depicted so much violence, the worst of it all the shooting, trying to kill the animals. I would hope that most adults would not want children to see this.

Besides most of the characters are unlikable. I saw the whole movie but did not come away with a very good feeling about it. To me the whole story is a mess.

Not only that, but so many nut jokes. "Nuts" this and "nuts" that. I don't want my precious angels talking about their nuts!

I`m sorry for my lack of manners, but I`m not used to escorting men.

reply

Why don't yo want your kids talking about their genitals?

It's totally natural

Unless your post was a joke

Was it a joke?

Cause if it wasn't a joke you are... Very strange

reply

Faggy parents result in faggy kids.... God these old ladies are so sensitive.

reply

I strongly disagree. The film has many flaws, but violence ain't a problem. There was more violence against animals in "101 Dalmatians" for example.

I watched The Nut Job with my 4 year-old daughter and she was often bored, but never scared or anything like that.

reply

Damn, don't let your kids watch Bambi then.

You just killed my girlfriend.....thats actually....kinda pissing me off....huh....

reply

It's just an awful movie all around. Unlikeable characters, recycled plot, and a dash of unnecessary toilet humor make this not for anyone with the slightest bit of intelligence. At least Shrek, as crude as it was, had genuine wit.

reply

Yeah but it's otherwise inoffensive. No bad language, one fart joke I can remember, and some general goofiness. A middle of the road animated film that I only rated as highly as I did because I personally enjoyed it despite how derivative it was. It isn't a great film by any means, but it's hardly the worst kids' movie ever made, and certainly not what the OP implied, either.

I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?

reply

What next Tom and Jerry????

reply

Your kids are going to grow up queer. There is nothing wrong with kids watching this movie. It's not too violent. It's whiny douchebags like you who ruin movies with your need to bitch about something and be heard for attention.

reply

Queer doesn't necessarily mean wimpy, y'know. Or a douchebag. I'm bi and loved this movie. I saw nothing wrong with its violence which was strictly cartoon level, even the gunplay (naturally the bad guys can't hit anything).

I mean, really, how many times will you look under Jabba's manboobs?

reply

No, Queer means strange or odd .. it has nothing to do with sexuality .. honestly language skills are essential to good communication.

It really is sad that as time goes on people seem to be losing these skills and, ironically, advancing technology makes us more dependent on communication.

reply

Try water ship down then :)

reply

Are you serious? It's an animated comedy about squirrels stealing some nuts. Don't be a bubblewrap parent.

reply

All children stories have included death, baby-eating witches, monsters, hunters who kill animals and people, queens that cut off heads, uncles that murderously scheme against fathers, and generally darkness and gloom

That's since the dawn of humanity

I agree that in the past two decades the tone has softened a lot

So... Are you a teen parent?

Or did you miraculously grow up sheltered from the history of children's tales?

Or... Are you mentally impaired perhaps? Kind of like Forrest Gump

You know, heart of gold but not very bright

Is that how you roll?
