As an Irish person who visited Nebraska...

....Hawthorn reminded me so much of where I stayed in Crawford.
This is an absolute gem of a movie.
It has great acting, storyline, script and cinematography.
Some people on these boards are criticising the use of black & white. The Nebraska landscape lends itself to b&w, and most of the photography I did there was in b&w (I do a lot of photography, and IMO the b&w cinematography was a perfect fit in this instance, like Woody Allen's Manhattan or Luc Besson's Paris in Angel-A).

I've watched this movie several times, and it loses nothing to repeated viewings (in fact, the experience is probably enhanced).

Alexander Payne knows how to turn out a well-crafted movie, and is probably my favourite director working in Hollywood today.
In time, Nebraska will be viewed as a classic.
