Too many Flaws to be taken Seriously..(Major Spoilers!!)

There are just too many plot loopholes in this movie which only come to surface after you put some thought into the happenings of the movie. here are a few.

1. Why did Bhaskaran send Khan into kolkata to investigate about Milan if he himself was the Kingpin. Wouldn't he be scared that khan being non-complicit and an honest officer might get to know about the whole plot?? If I was Bhaskaran I would try to sweep this whole thing under the carpet.

2. When Khan was hatching this elaborate plot to use Vidya to cath Milan didn't he keep Bhaskaran in loop?? He clearly reports to his boss after he interrogates vidya for the first time..So clearly he should tell Bhaskaran about his plan to catch Milan and take consent,or atleast discuss it.

3. Why would Bhaskaran choose Milan to confront Vidya?? He was the guy he was hiding at all cost.Couldn't he have sent someone else to get those files? or for that matter couldn't he just bump her off way earlier much like he did to Agnes and The doctor?? Don't tell me he was sympathetic towards the pregnant woman. His whole career and life is on the line here.

4. This is not a plot loophole per say. but lot of the happenings are very conveniently placed in the story. Vidya mastering at hacking, mastering at opening locks with her hairpin, Vidya noticing the tea Glasses at milan's home, The tea guy noticing Sridhar by his suitcase at one chance(it's been two years for god's sake) many jarring moments like this which are quite far-fetched.

5. After hacking Shridhar’s computer and copying all the files, the only file that seemed odd was the file that Bhaskaran’s number stored (ha ha) cryptically. This file had Bhaskaran’s number in an alphabet code. what’s wrong with Shridhar having Bhaskaran’s number. After all, the IB seemed to have been sending their officers to NDC quite frequently and it’s normal for Shridhar to have known Bhaskaran. So, how did Nawaz conclude only the basis of that stupid cryptic code that his boss is the brains behind it all? FAR-Fetched!!

6.the killing of agnes made no sense, She would have gotten the old file of Milan, Big Deal!! Didn't vidya find it later anyway and nothing conclusive came out of it. neither did the killing of Sridhar by Vidya made any sort of sense. If at all that guy would have helped to nab Sridhar!! Why kill him Vidya??

There are many more flaws which if anybody is interested I might narrate. So overall its an enjoyable movie if you overlook gaping loopholes in the plot and are not too serious about plots and stories. Having said all that I think the director and the team deserves some praise for venturing into this sort of territory in this day & age of Mindless films like Ready and Bodyguard.

Why shouldn't he? If he sends he'd know in advance for what is happening at Kolkotta and take appropriate action. Bhaskaran thought that Khan didn't suspect him and was the one who'd honestly update him.

Not exactly this way, but one can surely point as a hole by saying that since Khan used to update Bhaskaran, he would have also told Bhaskaran that they're investigating on a potential suspect working at NDC (i.e. Shridhar), the night Rana and Vidya intruded Sridhar's office followed by Sridhar getting killed. Bhaskaran could have immediately alerted Sridhar about it. For this may be we can guess that Khan decided to act on his own and for that he enrolled Rana and stopped updating Bhaskaran.

Would like to hear some comments from other users on this.

This has been answered by shantanab-lone-voyager on other thread: "After Bob Biswas (contract killer) was killed, maybe there were no other contract killer available at that particular moment, so despite the fact that IB chief, by now, was aware that Vidya had important info - he had to send Milan to kill her...
it may also be that he never suspected Vidya to be an assassin who wants to kill Milan (for personal revenge), he rather feared that those info will get into the hands of other IB officers and wanted to retrieve the info badly."

I have a slightly different take to explain it going by aesthetic of story . I take this as Film-Noir element. The movie only revolves around the set of characters and they seem larger than life but are much life like in their action. In Film-Noirs it won't happen that the bad guys has army of people who'd send their men to bump off someone. The Maltese Falcon. One assassin, one middle man, one femme-fatale and one protagonist, a detective who knows nothing but just acts towards potential leads.

These are characters which attribute to Film-Noir. Kind of characters who are overconfident, medium-intelligent, cynical but Life-like, and short-term opportunists. Milan may be just a common man - who might have acted as per instructions of Bhaskaran or somehow gets in touch with Bhaskaran who intun is a part of a conspiracy to sell/transport the chemical weapons. We don't know Milan's exact role. But after the incident, he hid himself. And Bhaskaran too must be acting on instructions of some international group (just speculations) and they were left on their own to tackle things after the mishap.

The Possibility for me is:-

After the train Mishap, Milan who is a common guy and not someone who could fly-off to Mauritius, fled and hid himself in India. Bhaskaran wouldn't take any chance if Milan gets caught at the Airport. Bhaskaran, by his personal interest would also want Milan to get killed (who knows?) but can't let Milan get captured alive otherwise Milan would expose him. The best he could do was to mislead the investigation which takes the IB to Milan and keep him hiding. At the end, after Shridhar and Bob were dead, he had no option other than to send Milan himself to meet Vidya and kill her (because she called Bhaskaran that she knows that Sridhar's PC had his mobile number).

We can see that Milan was living in some slum, so he might be not be so rich. He must have got carried away to do a task for which Sridhar and Bhaskaran also were involved as one time project (to transport/sell the technology/chemical), but things went wrong. They weren't by themselves such big people who have hired men working for them.

Because it was stored in a cryptic code. Had it been just simply a number, he wouldn't have suspected it. And Sridhar must have stored the number in that coded form, much before IB's first investigation on NDC.

For certain aspects of the movie, we will find it silly or mediocre because of its lack of presentation and uniqueness. This is because we've seen so many Hollywood movies who are far better in their presentation. If this was Hollywood movie, it wouldn't have the 'mobile number stored in coded form' thing - may be - but something else much presentable which would look intelligent and beyond people's reach of technology.

We should appreciate this movie's efforts, that's what I am saying and not compare directly to some smart HW flick. For me, this movie is nothing less (and ocassionally better) than The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo where that girl keeps hacking computers and stealing informations from Libraries and stealing Billions of dollars from different world accounts. One can surely find some holes there too, if he/she wants to.

6.the killing of agnes made no sense, She would have gotten the old file of Milan, Big Deal!! They didn't know that Ms Agnes ALREADY Puked the information about Tyaagi and the Back-up office (where they stored hard copies). It was too late for them.

@Asphyxiod
Whoa .... u guys are so serious abt this stuff.

Anyway, as for gaffes ....

1. the coded number starts with a "c" ... thats a 2 on the phone and not a 9. Also the phone no has a 1 .... and whats the alphabet for that??

2. The smiling assasin doesnt kill Vidya the first time ... or Rana when he's chasing him (only issued one bullet per target??)

3. The assasin's suspicion is not aroused on seeing the door of the old office unlocked.

4. Why couldnt Vidya carry a gun under the sari or prothetic tummy when meeting Milan? .... cos 'hair-chopsticks" make it more dramatic, isnt it!!

reply

Lol... hair chopsticks XD

1. 'C' on BLACKBERRY is 9. I don't know about about other Qwerty cellphones like that of Nokia.

But yes...this is somewhat a sleazy plot device. And its a coincidence that both Rana and Sridhar uses same type of qwerty phone (may be blackberry) where C is number 9

2. Well....thats Ok ! I liked it. May be he freaked out and just started running.

3. Right. Minor flaw

4. Agreed. Another flaw. I think they wanted to dramatise the scene where she suddenly rams the pin right into the foot of Milan and then takes his gun. They could have thought lot better with Vidya having a hidden gun.
