How can people complain about it resembling House?

How can people COMPLAIN about A Gifted Man resembling House, when 4 or 5 of the highest rated shows are CSIs and NCISs? Those are all egg-zactly the same, only with different actors; watching any 2 episodes of any of those shows is like watching The Bone Collector (or any other petty mystery movie) 2 times in a row.

I'm sure the major CSI and NCIS fans would find what I just said insulting, but, as a viewer of House (more for the sake of my husband) and as a major fan of A Gifted Man, I find it just as insulting when they compare our shows.

All of the CSIs and NCISs have vague differences from one another, but they're all essentially the same, and yet they all have about the same ratings. That's why I think using "it's basically House" is a ridiculous argument. All I have to say in response is, "yeah....so!?" You've Got Mail was just as predictable and essentially followed the same storyline as Sleepless in Seattle, When Harry Met Sally, and hundred other romantic comedies...but that doesn't make any one of those movies any less enjoyable!

By the way...I'd just like to point out that I, for one, think A Gifted Man is far better than House.

I have said this from the very beginning. This show is a lot like House....ONLY BETTER. House is funny and I have watched the show and enjoyed it. My mom loves crime dramas. It is nice having a show that a 62 year old and 22 year old both watch and enjoy.

BTW Patrick Wilson is so much easier on the eyes than Hugh Laurie.

I don't think this is at all like House. House could not have been more predictable if it tried. It's been a few years so I forget the format. But I do remember it went something along the lines of someone got misdiagnosed. But there might be a cure. If it works it will save their life. If it doesn't they will die. After a couple of stat CTs and MRIs and a near death experience, the person just manages to come out of it with a complete recovery at the last split second before they completely die. Then House gets all the credit for saving the persons life. Next show, same exact outline.

This show was not anything like that. Or did I miss something?
