Totally agree. It's a violation of her privacy. If all these people cared so much and were so sad, where the hell were they?
Clearly she was a private person and this is the worst possible betrayal. No doubt it will be 'justified' in various ways by some pretence that it's a comment on modern society, but it's just exploitative.
All those creepy comments about how sexy she was. Yuk!
It wasn't that she was especially private, it was that she never really developed her own circle of friends. When she had a boyfriend, all of his friends became hers, and when they broke up, she never kept in touch with anyone. While she might have had friends at work, when she changed jobs they would never hear back. She just drifted through peoples lives, rarely leaving more than a fond memory. And the few people who did care about her were unable to get in touch with her after early 2001, when she cut off all contact.
