Terribly unfunny
In opinion, one of the most unfunny shows ever. Terrible acting and comedy- didn't laugh once.

shareI disagree, but hey to each his own :)
shareJust watched part 1 of the Christmas special. Found the situational humour to be very predictable and unfunny, not an original joke or punchline to be had. Basically a man in drag relying on swearing to garner cheap laughs. but as misstrouble wrote 'but hey to each his own'
shareI agree.. after watching other shows like Vicky Lawrence, Madea, Dame Edna and other ''mommas'', I expected something like the cover say: too rude for television. And it was not.
The only thing is that Mrs. Brown swears here and there but nothing too gross.
I would like to know how is that everybody in the set is laughing and I was not.
I like the set-up, the plot, but I thought it was going to be funnier...
Look up the word 'subjectivity'. It is funny to people who think it's funny, and it's unfunny to people who think it's unfunny. Both are right, because it is a personal opinion that is their own. The only problem I have is when people pontificate about what constitutes good comedy, as though their opinion is the only one and are therefore correct in their assumption - as though it was carved in stone. I personally find Mrs Brown's boys hilarious, but if others don't then so what? It certainly won't spoil my enjoyment of it - and, judging by its viewing figures, awards it's won, along with a successful stage version, I'm sure such opinions won't stop others enjoying it either. If you like it, watch it. If you don't then, well, don't. Not exactly rocket science is it?

Americans, give Awards and "Super-hype" unfunny shows like "30 Rock" and the Embarrassingly Bad "Modern Family" to boost rating
The OP, whom you are replying to, began his post by saying that it was his opinion. You are railing on him as if he is saying it as fact. He never insulted anyone for feeling differently than he does, so I'm not sure where your rant is coming from...
Hello, hello. What's going on? What's all this shouting? We'll have no trouble here.
I disagree I find it hilarious but as misstrouble said to each their own. I remember when Scary Movie came out (or maybe another very similar horror move spoof) Everybody I knew & the critics thought it was hilarious so loving horror & comedy movies I went to see it with a friend & while the whole theater roared with laughter (my friend included)I was thinking this is terrible * I don't think I laughed @ all. I still remember people saying "You really didn't like it?? When I gave them my opinion.
shareI thought comedians were not supposed to steals other comdedians material?
This aweful comedy never stops doing it.
In one episode I noticed three Bernard Manning jokes....very very old ones at that!
Hockey Stick Behind The Ear!
Of course the show "steals" other peoples stuff; that's part of the joke. Quite often someone will say something predictable, and Brendan O'Carroll will comment on it. The whole character is an updated Old Mother Riley, and the set-up is a throwback to the days when telly shows were live, and things went wrong.
shareI remember watching Old Mother Riley movies as a small child! So interesting that you mention that as I'm about to watch only my second Mrs. B's Boys show, the 2016 Xmas Show. This is uninhibited fun and silliness for those who get it and really stands alone in its own category, like the wonderful Father Ted! Very relaxing TV for me!
shareJust saw the last Christmas special. It was utterly cringeworthy, uninspiring and not funny at all. The repeated "awws" coming from the audience did not help at all. Nothing really happens in it.
I think whatever charm and wit it had in the beginning, that's all gone now. They jumped the shark so many times, you might as well just call it "Flying over Sharksville"
