Sony has pulled it from their release schedule. It must be complete crap.

Do you have a source or a link for that? I'm not doubting you, I'm just trying to find out further info about it.

I agree delays are rarely a good sign. But to play devil's advocate Cabin in the Woods was on the shelf for a few before release and it was an instant cult classic

Cabin in the Woods was held up because MGM was in and out of bankruptcy for several years. They literally had no cash flow to finish effects or pay for marketing/prints. They began to do a 3D post conversion, then abandoned that too.

Sony's not in the best place right now, but they're not MGM.
