Fun premise, poor execution

Neat that a film like this could get made today, unfortunately it never really comes together as a cohesive story and relies solely on its wackiness with a constant 'wink wink' to the audience reminding us to never truly care. Comedy and horror works best when the stakes are real and the humor works to bring levity to the terror. Unfortunately the movie is neither truly scary or very funny. It feels like a clumsy Edgar Wright knock off. Probably made by someone very connected and well off in the Hollywood social club. It's too bad because the right director could have actually made something special here.
