Is it similar to Ghibli's movies?

I'm a sucker for foreign animation and this has a Miyazaki feel from the looks of the trailer

I wouldn't say that it's got a Miyazaki feel to it. It's very much a Western film. It's definitely very creative, but in my mind, it isn't nearly as bizarrely creative and outlandish as some of the stuff that Studio Ghibli comes out with. If anything, it seems more comparable to what I remember seeing of older animated episodes of Winnie the Pooh from the early 90's. It's a cute film. I probably wouldn't watch it again, but that's because it's somewhat rare that I go for kid's movies like this one, and not necessarily because it's a bad movie in any way.

No, not at all. It has a picture book quality to it. I've never seen the original books, but I wouldn't be surprised if they looked exactly the same.

But it's excellent and you should still see it.

While it's not a very good comparison, I'd certainly say that this film is on level against some of the best Ghibli films.
It's really good and effortlessly causes that tingle in the heart at the end Japanese anime is good at.

I'll take the opposite tack and say, "Yes". It does remind me of Ghibli's films, though more in an ellusive quality than in design elements or story details.

It reminds me of Ghibli in that it is an animated story which crosses age boundaries easily, tells its story beautifully with an original, refreshing visual style, and has both surface-level, straightforward storytelling as well as layers underneath.

Because of how the movie is an expressive, original, fantastic creation, it both cannot be like Ghibli (because it is original) and at the same time, it would be right at home on the shelf with Ghibli's films.

The style and quality of animation is somewhat like it in some scenes.

The story is more along the lines of Arashi no Yoru Ni though.
