What's with the report cards?

This film brings up a news story about the capture of Patty Hearst to tell viewers that the story takes place in 1975.

The problem: Hearst was captured on September 18 of that year, a little too early in the school year to start issuing report cards.

That's a good point, one I don't think I'd have gotten to, unless something really jogged my brain on it. I like finding things like that in movies, etc. One of my favorite stage musicals has a similar problem, relating to a historic event, but I forgive it because it's so good. The show is CAROLINE, OR CHANGE. Anyone know what the historic problem is in it? (For that matter, does anyone care? Probably not, but just in case it's up your alley, chime in.)

Multiplex: 100+ shows a day, NONE worth watching. John Sayles' latest: NO distribution. SAD.

The mother is also dancing around to "More More More" by Andrea True Connection, which wasn't released until 1976.
