Did De Niro + Whitaker read this script?

Like everyone else when I saw De Niro & Whitaker I got sucked in. This story line is unbelievable, and not just the story line the dialogue is some the most cheese ball stuff ever. 50 cents character is not like-able & the stuff he does makes no sense and all the bad guys just trust him too much, it's just silly. 50 cents acting doesn't help either, but even if he was replaced with Will Smith this movie would still be crap. De Niro & Whitaker should have passed on this movie, they must have gotten paid big money.

De Niro and Whitaker have been sucked into the same trap as Bruce Willis has. I'd love to know why they feel the need to accept these roles they've made enough money over the years to be able to turn stuff like this down.

They got sucked in for some reason other than big money since the budget was only $11 million. That's the salary of one of them, not both plus everything else. These guys do films for friends from time to time or they do films when they like a script.

It's seems they do this type of movie as a favour to a friend or Producer.

DeNiro doesn't care what roles he takes anymore so why would he read the script? He hasn't made a great movie in years and that will continue.
