Horrible ending

the Malo character basically allows his friends to get killed, in part because of the corruption that he was willingly a part of. And ultimately just to get revenge on the Robert Deniro character, Malo ends up inheriting the lead position in his "crew" and continues as a corrupt officer despite being targeted by feds.
