Heheh don't mind the title, I was just fooling around. I've just noticed that Watch Dogs got 8.6, DmC got 8.2, Skyrim got 9.6 and freaking gta V got 9.8! What the heck!
WD, DmC and Skyrim are some of my favorite games and I can understand the rate that DmC got. But WD and Skyrim?! Skyrim is a thousand times better than GTA V!
Naa, that guy must be like 6. Idiots like that think that anything that isn't Madden or CoD is lame.
Watchdogs has its issues sure, but all and all its fun. Maybe not full price 60 USD, but easily worth a Steam sale price. Its biggest issue is the story is boring and most of the characters are stock, lame, and don't develop during the story. Including and especially the main character.
That sounds like a bigger issue than it actually is though. There's so much side stuff to do and so real little story that the main story is quickly sped through and forgotten against the avalanche of other "side activities" which are much more fun.
Others complain about the controls... must have been a console problem. The PC version functions very well. The stealth mechanic works so well with the cellphone "hacks" I was hours into the game before I had to fire any guns. The driving engine is an upgrade from the Cryengine driving in FarCry 3 (also by Ubisoft under a different dev) and I found it better than the Rockstar's Euphoria engine (basically I'm saying its better than GTA's driving.) If anything it's too easy, I was drift turning around hairpins and Rockfording out of blind alleys within minutes of getting into the first car I stole. Complaints about controls are frankly made by people that must be so ham-fistedly bad at games I'm surprised they play anything more involved than Mario.
But the best thing. It looks great and it is the sandbox world that feels more "alive" than any other sandbox game out there. There are a realistic number of npc's spawned and walking around. They do a larger variety of things and act more like real people than in any other sandbox. They wait for crosswalks, go in and out of shops and such, react to one another, some will call the police on their cellphones if they see a law being broken or someone getting injured... they don't just mill around until they bounce off my hood. It's the best sandbox city ever, period.
