I kept waiting for the 'genius' Professors to...

spoiler**** ...figure out that he needed to be with others like himself. They got so attached and wanted to be his biological family against his natural instinct to be an ape. I felt sorry for him when he was humping the cats and getting mad at the female humans...he was going through some serious puberty and they just didn't get it. They kept thinking 'what is wrong with him?' and so puzzled by his behavior. How could they keep him from his species for so long...that is animal abuse.
