Hasn't this been done?

I believe it starred Hilary Duff. They even tried to make a sequel called Another Cinderella Story.

I just saw Hayley's Comet, She waved. Said, "Why you always running in place?"

It did star Hilary. And there was a sequel. I just wish they would stop. I like the Cyrano De Bergerac aspect. But how can you redo a movie over and over in such a short time span.

TV taught me how to feel. Now real life has no appeal.

Ya many times... well if people are watching them i guess why not do more...right?? lol

all these movies are unrelated to each other, right? maybe they're following the sequel format of the Bring It On series.

The first Cinderella was really smart. (Wanted to go to Princeton.)
The second one was a great dancer. (Wants to get in a music vid/go to a performing arts school.)
The third one was a singer. (Wants to score a record deal.)

So they just have to come up with another.... talent+goal, I guess.

Also in the third one, the evil step siblings were actually a boy and a girl, and they were much more likable than previous evil step siblings.

Insist on yourself. Never imitate.

Yea they just vary the little details a bit but the plot is exactly the same! And in the first one, she drops a cell phone, in the second one, she drops an ipod, and in the third one, it was her CD. lol

I was thinking the same thing.

Yes, it was A Cinderella Story that starred Hilary Duff, and had well known actors at the time of 2004...

Then apparently there was another one called 'Another Cinderella Story', and at that time of 2008 had well known actors that year...

and the cycle continues, in 2011 they made 'A Cinderella Story: Once up on a song', this one had the same story line, etc and well known actors throughout 2010-2011 and now 2012...

I'm guessing this will be a theme till the end of time, every few years when there are a bunch of 'new' well known actors they will come up with a new Cinderella Story.

I have seen the Hilary Duff one and this recent one with Lucy Hale, haven't seen the second one made in 08 though..

the new one with Lucy Hale wasn't too bad, the kid at the beginning was a bit annoying but as you watch the movie towards the middle/end he kind of grows on you, and you end up thinking "aw isn't that sweet", same with the step sister (maybe?), its almost as if she is being forced to be a *evil* step-sister via the beyotch mom.

Once upon a song is almost the same exact story line as all the other Cinderella movies except this Cinderella as others have stated want's to score a record deal and so forth...

By the way, is the 2nd Cinderella movie any good? the one made in 2008? Wish it was on Instant watch for Netflix or I would watch it..

They're all going to be on ABC Family this Sunday, January 22. They're calling it "Cinderella Sunday." I think the first one is on at 4pm and Another Cinderella Story is on at 6pm and the new Lucy Hale one is on at 8pm, or something like that.

@Tinkerbellah The 2nd one was pretty good and Jane Lynch is super funny in it. I am thinking they are gonna be like the Bring It On movies though I have seen all 3 and they were decent not terrible with pretty good songs. I think "Another Cinderella Story" should be on netflix + I am sure you can watch it on the ABCfam website.

I liked the 3rd one too and the mom is such a evil drunk no wonder the sister, brother are like that. They weren't evil but kinda annoying, bratty but they weren't mean just to be mean like in the 1st and 3rd movies.

Really? I thought the first one and second one had a lot more memorable characters and better character development.

Honestly, the only thing this one had going for them is the bigger dance routines. But if I was picking between them for best music and more realistic dance situations, I'd choose the 2nd one. The songs were also a lot more catchy.
