Painful

It's weird, it goes to show that you can take 4 semi-professional people and make them look like amateurs. There's something about this programme that just comes across as badly organised and a bit of a mess. If this being continued for a new series is the reason that charlie brooker's weekly wipe run was so short I'll s**t.

For me there's a kind of empty feeling to it. Maybe its because there's a bloody gaping void between a large audience and only four presenters. You could drive a tank around the set, and when there's a massive audience and studio, it makes you expect the actual meat to be substantial, but it isn't.

Also the format sounds better when you're describing it - Laverne is the general host while the others have their own segments in turn - but in reality there's a weird atmosphere of having something good about to happen and then it never does. The glue between the sections isn't strong enough and I think it all feels incoherent. It being live exacerbates this too, because they can't wrap up each bit neatly - they get cut off because they have to make sure they fit everything in the time slot.

I feel restless watching it, because I know there's a producer in their ears, rushing them (this also means that they get flustered and don't come up with their best material). Things go wrong, and I worry about what's going to happen. I think if they made some changes they'd have a really good show though.
