Why so many bad reviews

That is puzzling because here on IMDb the rating is nicely high, most of the votes are 8 of 10, and across all age ranges it is fairly consistent. I didn't read the so-called professional reviews but sometimes those guys forget what movies are made for and what audiences enjoy watching.
