Pacific flick?

Saw it in its original release last year, and there's Hacksaw Ridge, over at which message board, some are pointing out its famed director Mel Gibson CRITICIZED Donald Trump, and one guy or gal said that after all, the lead soldier boy refuses to fight or anything, so, remembering, I just brought up this movie, since the lead character (too young to be a solder anyway) doesn't want his dad in a war and (though not for pro-enemy treasonous reasons, of course) just wants the war to end, and if this had been the Hacksaw Ridge character (I remember the name: Desmond Doss), he would have gotten into huge trouble for not wanting a standard (i.e., weapons) war.
