Alex Lifeson (rock star) as Dr. Figg!?!

I was channel surfing and saw Alex in Irvine Welsh's Ecstasy (2011) (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1809287/). I didn't see the entire film, I just noticed that the actor playing a doctor bore a startling resemblance to Alex and was shocked to see that it was him.

Anyone know how he came to act in this film?

Whatever you wish for me, I hope you have twice as much.

Canadian film. Seems like he must know someone. He was great.

Here, they were raffling off the stethoscope he wore in the scene to raise money for a wider release.
