I LOVED Trainspotting for so many reasons. So when I started watching I.R.'s Extacy, I was so excited.
TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT. It doesn't even seem like it was written by the same guy. Mabey it was just me, mabey heroin is more interesting to me than extacy. I don't know but I sat through mabey 40
minutes of it, trying to get into it....just couldn't. I turned it off due to boredom. The characters were boring (at least in Trainspotting there were eccentric characters) and watching people dance in a club and F eachother is BORING.
Big disappointment. You obviously can't rely on Irving Welch as a brand with a certain style like say Quentin T or whoever.

Irvine Welsh is the writer of the both books. He wasn't the script writer non of the movies.

Trainspotting was better because the director was Danny Boyle. Ecstasy was directed by a low quality director.

If you want to criticize Irvine Welsh read the books. Don't judge him from a movie that he didn't work.

I agree, the film was rubbish. I managed to get to the end but wished I'd turned it off sooner. I'm going to give Acid House a go because I've heard it's better but as for this cr*p, I'm doubting even Cash Converters wouldn't take it off my hands
