Subtitles on BluRay?

I purchased the BluRay recently and was surprised to find that there are no subtitle options. Maybe it is because I imported the BluRay from the UK. Almost all of the BluRays I purchase have several subtitle options. Do UK releases tend to omit subtitles?
Anyway, I wish they were there, I've come to rely on subtitles, even on movies that don't feature strong accents.
