Coyote or deer?

*Slight spoiler*

A minor thing here.. on the day when they leave, they hit a coyote. They get out of the car and check it. We assume it is dead. Then later, when they are discussing how everything has died around them, they mention a dead deer. Is this an editing problem, or something? Just curious.

No editing problem, a little later in the movie they pass a parked touring bus with the tourists taking pictures of a deer, moments later a car hits and kills the deer.
