Impossible. Despite the writer claiming he did indeed film himself, unless you could see the camera in the mirror, it is impossible.
Unless there is some kind of implant in his eyeball that transmits to the camera to film what his eyeball sees, or maybe he's using some film making technique, it's a basic law of physics that if you can't see the camera in the mirror, then the camera can't see you in the mirror.

The camera is in the mirror, you can just about see him put the camera on the bed
and then he sees himself in the mirror.
You can't see the camera in the mirror despite it seeing his face if you're looking through the actual camera at a slight angle, like, when you're playing back a recording on that camera for instance.
