What the hell went wrong with Season 2?

Season 1 in the sixties was great, and when I heard the second season would take place in the eighties I was stoked. But...

Everyone yells their lines.

The writer and director are trying too hard to be funny.

The characters are incredibly off putting, especially Tucker. WTF happened? He was the standout in S01.

Using bad miniatures in the eighties makes no sense.

The story is stupid/confusing and the character motivations nonsensical.

Nudity in a comedy spoof seems gratuitous.

Two of the best characters aren't really in it: Pierre and Claire (ok, her head is)

Repetitive, especially the Jackson-Ilsa thing.

Jackson was the weakest link acting-wise in S01, and he's even worse here yet featured more.

I could go on. Honestly, I don't think I laughed once all season.

Johnny Hitler was the best episode of either season!

Personally, I loved season two even more. I love action and horror films, especially ones from around that era, and the parody aspects were so spot on. I have to agree with everyone about Johnny Hitler being the best episode.

I laughed pretty hard when I read the episode title Johnny Hitler. That was about it for season 2'

I pretty much agree with you. I found myself not laughing for long periods in this season. The script is terrible, makes no sense at all, and the characters do act at random. Carmine Russo as Hitler was very funny in the 1st season; in this one he's just acting maniac (always eyes wide-open), and I didn't liked it as much.

Tucker is the just boring, he makes no difference the whole time - such a different acting from season 1. Only Jackson's "gay torture/friendzone" was a true funny feature in this one. And of course, ILSA is still the best thing, holy smokes.

I hope there's a season 3, back to the 60's.

The 60s spy movie style set in an 80s world is what makes it funny.

I agree with the OP.

Season 2 is very disappointing. Season one is not brilliant but was a fun ride. Season 2 couldn't get its groove on.
