Severe underacting ***SPOILERS***

***SPOILERS***

In both scenes with the girl on the ice, the parents stand by and seem about as concerned as they would if it were some stranger in peril. They care, but aren't personally involved. Even when she crashes through the ice, something that would send most parents hysterically plunging into the water in a frantic rescue effort, they gasp and clasp at each other but are still not showing much distress. In actual fact, most parents would be right out of their minds on anguish. This scene was severely under played.

And once they got her back, did either of them even take off a jacket or sweater to wrap around her? Did they heck as like! No! They just sat there in that cold air and gave her a cuddle. Awww! Sweet! While she freezes to death!

And where was the ambulance? I had to call for help once when a little one was locked in a room, and EIGHT cops and firefighters showed up pronto, including a fire truck and an ambulance!

If a call went in that a little girl was stuck on cracking ice would not more help be sent out than two firefighters? How did they get there, by car? where was the back up?

And once Goose's dad pulls himself up out of the water on the edge of the ice hole, both he and his mate (Jason Flemyng) SIT there on the edge in warm self-congratulation. Yeah! Like that would happen! Did nobody ever teach these guys about slowly sliding on your belly on cracking ice? Apparently they missed that class in their rescue studies. The ice just cracked through, lads, is there no concern that it will happen again under the weight of two hefty firefighters???

Love this film, but there are moments that leave the viewer head-scratching in bewilderment.
