Absolutely Wonderful - and True

I lived with a French family as a student in the early 1960s in Paris, and this movie brought back many memories. Like the characters in the film, the family were upper-crusty living in an apartment building just like the move. We also had "un domestique" - her name was Laudice, she was from Portugal, and she was the sweetest and kindest person I met the entire time I lived in Paris. When I ran out of money, she leant some to me. I repaid her of course, but this simple act of generosity opened my heart to the kindness and generosity of spirit of the so-called lower classes.
