Hahaha... Ya, 'Billable Hours' was great fun.
'InSecurity' on CBC, half-hour comedy about a fictional spy agency in Canada.
'Heartland' is a great CBC show if you have kids. It's pretty sanitized, but I totally got addicted to it despite it's faults and I'm well outside the demographic for the show. (They've aired 5 seasons in Canada.)
'Rookie Blue' as mentioned, is pretty good... although, I hate the fact that they resorted to a *beep* between the characters in order to drive interest in the show. That to me is a weakness to the writing, in any show. :/
'Lost Girl' is one that I watch. It's in the same vein as True Blood - except it's watchable, whereas TB pains me. Even after seeing every episode of TB, I'm still not sure if I like it. In fact, 'Lost Girl' seems to be getting even stronger as the series goes on... Kenzie (Ksenia Solo) is fantastic in the show.
I haven't been overly impressed with 'Arctic Air' because they went straight for the 'characters sleeping around with each other' again. And the lead actor is pretty painful to watch. He's surrounded by a decent supporting cast, but it can get pretty painful at times. Not to mention that if my planes broke down or crashed as often as they do in the show, I would have cut my losses, sold the business and found myself a piece of tropical beach somewhere!
But Canada IS doing better on the TV front. We seem to be gaining a bit of confidence when it comes to our product. And our production values seem to be getting much better. 'King' looks fantastic. 'Flashpoint' looks great. 'Lost Girl' looks pretty good (the majority of that show is soundstages and more expensive weekly builds which sometimes feel like theatre sets, but that is a result of the genre & budget).
