Chazz Palminteri would indeed be the obvious choice, giving Paul Castellano gravitas and toughness the previous time he played him. But the real Castellano was something of a punk, so maybe someone adept at playing a-hole characters...?

frank vincent from the sopranos might be another great guy to play castellano...
i just hope this movie is the life and times of john gotti and how he rose to fame in the mid 80s

Considering how he already played Frank DeCicco and DiB in previous films, Frank Vincent would certainly feel at home, not mention familar, with the material.

Hell, he played Billy Bats, a made Gambino man in Goodfellas - it's like he obliged by contract to play Gambino guys ;)

yea i think chazz could play him. i dont want to see frank vincent play him because i dont want to see him get whacked lol. nah but he's one of my favorite actors.

Danny Aeillo might fit that bill very nicely.

i dident even think of danny aeillo. great actor. i think he might play the role very well, the only problem is i dont think he resembles castallano's slim figure.

Castellano looked like he got kinda beefy in his old age so yeah, Danny Aeillo could play him. My only complaint is that Aeillo usually plays characters who are on the blue-collar side, while Big Paulie was very self-consciously aristocratic. But Aeillo's a good actor so he could probably get around that.

I know Danny Aiello, FYI he's about 5'11" and about a 40 suit size. You always look heavier on camera.

eh i just found out chaz palminteri played castellano in boss of bosses. so i dont think he'd be interested in playing castellano again.
