Great movie--nice plot with plenty of twists and great dialogue, but they missed one detail.
Katie Sackoff has William Baldwin's favorite drink waiting for him, which he calls a Sidecar, which appears to just be a beer with some type of shot.
A Sidecar is an old school cocktail made with Cognac, Triple Sec, and Lemon Juice.
Yeah but in this day and age a beer can be served with a shot of pretty much anything on the side and it's just generically called a sidecar. The old school drink books are obsolete. You can't even get a true Sex on the Beach these days. Can't find a local bar that knows how they are correctly made. Time marches on and all things change...

The old school drinks arent obsolete. Sidecar is one of my favorite cocktails and i havent had any problems getting one anywhere i go.
Biggest trend in the past few years has been old school cocktails.
