100 dislikes!?! Wow!

My review of this film got 100 dislikes! Wow!

reply

That´s because of your stupid political statements. That ˝famous˝ sentence about Serbian football success is there because only players from Serbia participated in Yugoslav national team, while Croats refused to go. There is no any nationalism or ˝Greater Serbia˝ bulls..t. Also, nowadays Bosniacs,Macedonians and Montenegrians were considered as Serbs in that time, so nobody mentioned them especially.
A šta si ti sa svojim imenom i prezimenom valjda sam znaš...?

reply

Still wow! It is amazing to get so many dislikes. For American, German etc films I get usually likes, here so many dislikes. It is overwhelming to know how some Serbs hate us non Serbs....

reply

lol...u are here speaking trash and u then u say Serbs hate non Serbs. haha...ur comment say enough about what person u are, full of hate and jelaousy. good gay troll.

reply

[deleted]

...Croats are the worst kind of Serbs...

reply

If it was like that we would be in one country, but we are not. See you in the EU together in about 100 years... If!

reply

HAHAHAHAHA NATO?!

reply

You really expected that your hate speech would attract likes? This is not a place for politics and insults toward other ethnic groups. It's obvious your intention was to provoke other people, not to write a decent review about actual movie. And btw, speaking about victims, you should mention that hundreds of thousands Serbs, contemporaries of this movie's characters died under Croatian-Bosnian Ustasa regime during WWII.

reply

Now, now Mihailo, I did not want to provoke anyone. I just wrote my review and I could not beleive the response. But when Serbs are in question,, we the non Serbs can expect everything!
Those things I mentioned are all facts, I do nut understand why did you all get upset. As far as the WWII goes that is a different story, we are talking about 1930. History should not be looked backwards, although many make that mistake.

reply

There is no place for politics in movie review, just sayin.

reply

There is, because last two lines in this movie are political.

reply

[deleted]

You just wrote your review, I just red your review - don't like it! Gave you dislike. Please don't be upset. And don't use NATO weapons if it is possible?

reply

It is OK trianglebgd, we all do not like some things in life, but we have to live with it.
NATO uses its power if it deems necessary.

reply

This is a movie site, not a place for settling national animosities so please be so kind and act accordingly. I am Slovene and I like Serbs and Croats alike so don't even try to politicise or push me either way. Best regards to all.

reply

The point for you Peter that politics in this film came out of itself. The last line said that it was the biggest achievement of the Serbian football. In 1930 it was a team of the Kingdom of Yugoslavia and not of Serbia, so it was an achievement by Yugoslavia not Serbia. That was the only thing I wanted to point to and it created a storm. I still do not understand why.

reply

I'm a croat, and I think your review was unnecesary political, and has little to do with a great movie, so I gave you a dislike.
Nothing personal though, people have free will to like or not like anything, not everybody has to agree with you.

reply

No, I really think that I needed to explain the political background at the time, since there was a political reasons why non Serb players did not participate. I tried to explain them, and they kept deleting those reasons and explanations. Today is 2014, it was 1930, things were much different then!!!

reply

You don't know nothing about "then". And now you're deluded. Reading you is so sad...

reply

What do you mean I do not know nothing about then? I have a masters in international relations. History of this region was part of my studies.

reply

History is completely bogus in Balkan. It's like you mastered in saloon politics. Again, its' very sad to read your thoughts and see so many hatred in a man.

reply

Again I repeat, in 1930 it was a Yugoslav team, not the Serbian team that went to Uruguay. So last line is wrong. No matter the composition of the team.
And please cudak3177-1 do not be cudak and focus on the matter.

reply

Well, it wasn't really Yugoslavia it was officially called the Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes, but the term "Yugoslavia" was its colloquial name from its origins.
So if we accept the fact that it was the Kingdom of Serbs, on the first place, than Croats and Slovenes and it was a team made out of Serbian players, I don't see the reason why not to call it the way it is.
Before the "Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes" it was the Kingdom of Serbia as it is now, only Serbia.
I understand the point you are trying to make but it's really about semantics. Fact is, it was a Serbian team from the Kingdom of Serbia...and Croats and Slovenians. Producer just shortened it and history proved him right.

reply

On October 3, 1929 Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes was renamed, and the new name was Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Championship in Uruguay was held in 1930.
Inbota, before you start spilling your emotions you should brush your history up.

reply

I have literally zero emotions about something that happend nearly 90 years ago. I do, however, have certain sympathy towards people who live in the past, constantly starting flaming threads because "their grandpa told them a story...".
Still fact remains, it was a team of Serbians who won the game.

If you want to dig in to emotions, Serbians will call it a Serbian "victory", even though it was technically a Yugoslavian team (formed in Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes). It's perfectly understandable why a Serbian director would go as far as calling it "biggest achievement of the Serbian football", as it trully was the Serbian school of football that got the team that far.

If you want to be technical about it, you can call it Yugoslavian team, I don't mind and I don't think any Serb will ever mind, because we have the King Alexander (Serb) to thank for creation of Yugoslavia.

For you it's about disputing that victory purely because bad neighbours syndrome. So who's really emotional about it? It's a rhetorical question, don't answer it.

reply

I am glad that you admit that it was Yugoslavian team.
In the competition in Uruguay it was presented as a Yugoslav team, and players wore shirts with the coat of arms of Kingdom of Yugoslavia (look how it looked).
I am sorry that director was not accurate enough and called it the biggest achievement of the Yugoslav team. It was mistake, but 90 years later it is easy to make a mistake...

reply

Sure, why the hell not. I'm sorry about Yugoslavia as well.

reply

Well inbota, I am NOT sorry that Yugoslavia fell apart. It was a failed state two times in its history. I just wished it disintegrated without a genocide and bloodshed. I just hope that successor states will be a success story, but it does not seem so. All are performing poorly including Slovenia which became part of the EU while ago. All in all šaka jada.
