Uncharted 3: First impression...

I've played Uncharted 2 and liked it. This new one though, I'm not sure about. I'm on chapter 8 and the one thing that is glaringly obvious is that the guns are useless. You'd do more damage to a thug throwing rice at him than shooting him with most of the guns in this game. The only guns I've come across so far that actually kill the bad guys are the sniper rifle & the magnum pistol. Every other gun takes about 20 bullets to kill a guy. I understand that some are wearing body armor, but they aren't wearing it on their faces though. Unless I'm extremely far away from the bad guy, I've given up on the guns and I just run up and beat them up. Weird.
