Powerful Performances (SPOILERS)

Streaming this right now for the first time in a few months, iv'e seen it a few times before and watching it again is a reminder of why Amy Adams won an Oscar, her performance was powerful and emotional especially that scene where she says something like "And i'm going to take all of that heartbreak, and all of that sorrow, and i'm going to use it", that scene was fantastic.

Christian Bale broadens his horizons with his roles, he plays all different types of characters - example - an anorexic, a buffed dark knight, and an unattractive conman.

Jennifer Lawrence was the only one who couldn't pull off her role, she has a babyface, they should have got an older actress, how many A-Listers did they need?! Smh they already had plenty.

Bradley Cooper - Great, funny and unpredictable in his role.

Some people on this board dislike this movie, to each his own, i don't usually like films like this, but the performances were just too good.

This movie needs to be watched at least two times. The flick is so smart, that I consider it near impossible to, on the first watch , fully appreciate the nuances, especially the way this platinum cast delivers them, which is very near perfect. For me it was a feeling as if I was part of the club when I did fully catch on to some of the brilliant facial expressions and why they were being used. To FULLY understand this movie, Is like spending a couple of hours up in the rarefied air, with all the smart people that you wish you could hang out with every day

That's an interesting viewpoint.

Absolutely. While I disagree about the OP and Lawrence, whom I thought was great, I agree that this film is meant to be rewatched. It's layered very well and continues to mesmerize me with each viewing. The moment "Some of this actually happened" pops up, the viewer should understand that the truth is secondary. When I say "Truth", I mean in the sense of every little detail being legit. It's about Politics but it's also about the Era. How long before our time, people could become whomever they wanted... Or a better way to put it is that people FELT they could. America was a different Country.
