Question about Yukio Okumura in the manga (MAJOR ANIME SPOILERS)

Just finished the series and at the end, it's revealed that Yukio has the same demonic powers as Rin (i.e. Blue Flames). Does he also possess these abilities in the manga? Or did they do something different with him there?
