If yours is the very first and only review...

... then what is the point of writing it with a spoiler!? Do you really not want anyone to read your review before watching the movie or what!!??

The point of a review is so as to give an objective summary as to why a movie is either bad or good, so that discerning others may make an informed opinion as to whether your review is on the mark and the movie should be judged as possibly worth watching according to it. For instance, imagine 'Shawshank Redemption' is out for the very first time, and yours just happened to be the only review: sure you give it a high rating, but in your review you also happen to mention that the lead spends years chipping away at the walls so that he can escape at the end. Well, idiot - you've just ruined a good movie for anyone who's not watched it, and what exactly was your point in being the first reviewer who just gives away the main plot twist - with the lame assed disclaimer that it contained "spoilers"!! Grrrr. Just think about it: yours is the only review and it gives the movie away: Eh.... DON'T YOU REALISE that by putting in spoilers you automatically render your review worthless to most who haven't seen it. Which is, when the movie is quite new and without other reviews, most irritating. So, people... when writing the only review for a movie - please try to spare a thought for the great majority of people who have not seen it, and just try writing it without giving any spoilers away. Try it, & you might just be able to write a useful and helpful review for others to appreciate.
