Anyone else struggle with Joaquin's glasses and mustache?

There were a few times in the movie, I don't know if it was just the lighting or what, but I swear it looked like he was wearing a pair of those gag glasses with the huge eyebrows, nose, and mustache. I couldn't help but laugh.

I enjoyed the movie, and thought it had some very interesting ideas, but geez... I felt bad after a while, especially when he was really down, but I just couldn't get it out of my head. It reminded me of that episode of Futurama where Fry's nose is stolen and his friends give him a "high quality prosthesis" (joke glasses) and he's all sad and "my life is ruined!" and everyone's laughing at everything he says (What a jokester!) 

Mustache = ok
Glasses = ok
Both at the same time = 

Hahaha yes

Great, now I wonder what the movie would've been like if Groucho Marx played the main character.

I hate the moustache, makes him looks ten years older.

reply

YES. I HATE that stupid dorky mustache. Actually makes an attractive man ugly.

reply

Not really..but those pants above the navel, that was barbaric.

reply

Thank god someone mentioned the horrible pants. The other guy was wearing them, too, in the early scene with Amy's preview of her footage.

Do people wear pants like that? Never seen any.

reply

LOL
Perhaps in the past, but nowadays nobody wears them like that in the West. In India though, I know many men used them like that about 15 years ago (when I visited) I don't know if they still use them like that today though.

The director chose the high waisted pants, made of soft wool, to contrast the cold slickness of the surroundings.
He said he tried them on and they felt like a hug.
