Why it won't work.

This argument has probably been made numerous times and will crop up and infinitum but the reason this will fail is because of the differing standards between British and America TV. The Inbetweeners if full of profanity and crude humour. And that's why it's so brilliant. Personally I can't see many of these type of scenes being transferred to America as American TV is, for lack of a better word, more prudish than British TV. When the original series of The Inbetweeners was broadcast on BBC America, most of the swearing was muted. When MTV remade Skins, there only two uses of the word "f!ck" in the first episode (as opposed to the first episode of the original series where it was used frequently), both of which were bleeped. Plus, five quid says they'll bolt on a laugh track and ruin it completely.
