Why, why why...
Another US remake from MTV of a perfectly good and popular show. I'm not one to come on boards to slate something I haven't seen but I've just viewed the trailer and if it's anything to go by then this looks like one of the worst remakes to date.
I am a fan of the UK version being very original and fresh in it's approach to a well-established plot. Also the jokes, whilst not to everyone's taste, are also very funny and sometimes even clever...
So after watching the trailer, and it's not like I don't get american humor (Some of my favorite and funniest TV shows are american, The big bang theory for instance (also the mentalist, not a comedy but has some subtle humor in), and it was just so unfunny. Like the guy who threw the football (rugby in UK) and it hit the disabled guy who had crutches and knocked him over... Really...
I'm not slating america as a whole as like I said, i love the big bang theory, chuck etc. and other shows and if the UK remade them I doubt it'll work. Please leave our shows alone MTV...
It possibly looks worse then the "Silent Library" tv show which absolutely slaughtered and destroyed the hilarious original Japanese version which I'm still trying to forget...

The fact that you like big bang theory is reason alone just to ignore whatever you have to say...

And as for the football you scene you do realize it's that same scene from the UK Inbetweeners when Will throws a Frisbee at the girl in a wheelchair... Seriously how do you not see that?

Not saying this remake will be amazing but you never know you could turn out to be extremely funny. The jokes in the first were so good that it'll be kind of hard to make them unfunny.

The fact that you ignore someones opinion on something just because they like one thing (that has nothing to do with the topic they are discussing)is reason alone just to ignore whatever you say and to not respond...

Yeah but it's all in how it's executed... If what you're saying is true that means that the cheaper knock-offs of good movies are just as good as the original because they have the same scenes in. (and the fact that it has a lot of jokes from the original just recycled and made unfunny, doesn't give it much hope either...)

I have said that I haven't seen it and it's just my first impressions of it and usually that's what counts especially since they're hundreds and thousands of new shows coming out every year. The trailer is supposed to show what the TV show will be like and from the trailer (comparing it to what I've seen of the UK version) it does not look great. Granted it might be funny but up to now I haven't seen anything that is worthy of calling it a good remake.

(Just a off-topic question, I'm curious. What's so bad with the big bang theory?)
