I think only Simon is funny out of the four US characterizations and thats because he looks and acts almost identically to the original UK Simon.
This version makes me just want to re-watch the original again.
They would have been better off casting the original actors putting on American accents!

This show is about 4 HS losers trying to get laid. It is not a remake of the UK show The Inbetweeners; it is a remake of every show aimed at a teenage audience ever.
Actually, the vast majority of teen shows on tv right now are very girl oriented, thus aren't about getting laid.
Awkward, Secret Life of the American Teen, Switched at Birth, Teen Wolf, Gossip Girl, and 90210.
In fact, raunchy teen shows about boys rarely crop up, usually fail, and Inbetweeners is the only one on tv right now. All of the others are melodramas aimed at girls.

This IS a remake of the UK version. Yeah, the UK version only had 6 episodes per season, but the 6 episodes that were in the US version were direct copies.
I think US Neil is kinda funny, but he never ever has anything to do.
