I hated Cinderella Man because it was a totally fake story.

It was a story about people that really existed but they made up stuff about Max Baer who was a good man and made up stuff to make him look bad in the movie. Max was a generous man yhat helped out boxer that were down and out. If you did not know what the real Max Baer was likr you probably like the movie, but I was ticked off because they ruined a good manx reputation who was no longer alive to defend himself.

In the movie they made max a remorseless killer but this is what Max JR said abouy hus dad

================================
To be sure, Cinderella Man's fleeting portrait of Baer as a skirt-chasing playboy, notorious for clowning in the ring, is consistent with published accounts. Baer was also a ferocious hitter—a "larruping thumper," in the Times' gloriously redundant formulation. In his early career, he secured a fearsome reputation on the West Coast, killing a boxer named Frankie Campbell during a 1930 bout. The tragedy so rattled Baer that he lost four of his next six fights. In the film, the death of Campbell is used to build up Baer as a remorseless killer. One movie's terrifying thug, however, is another man's father. "It was after he killed Campbell that he started clowning," Maxie Baer Jr. said in a recent telephone conversation from Las Vegas. "He started smoking cigarettes and he had nightmares for years."

Cinderella man is better. Based on real historical events, and Russell and Renee were great.Jake Gyllenhaal is great in any character he takes on. He is one of the greatest actors of his generation!

Cinderella Man. Southpaw is good but Cinderella Man just brings such a golden quality to the story, and every time his wife gives him that talk in the dressing room (you are the champion of my heart) I get chills.

Cinderella Man is superior in every way imaginable. Script, direction, production, acting (Jake is a brilliant actor but even he could not save this rubbish), etc. etc.

I tend to favor Cinderella Man because it's a true life story and it's based on an earlier time period. One could say that I have a thing for historical dramas, particularly real life dramas.
