Where is Thurman's Dad? (SPOILERS)

In the first film, we learn that Thurman's dad is supposedly "exploring mountains", when in reality he is in jail for embezzlement. We learn at the end of the movie from Willie's letter to Thurman that his dad will be back from "exploring mountains" in 1 year and 3 months. In this movie, Thurman says he has no family left; his grandmother died a couple years ago, but he makes no mention of his father. Is he supposed to be in jail or something?

Your guess is as good as mine.

It's kinda bogus that they killed off the grandma because Cloris Leachman is still very much alive and well, still working regularly, so they could've brought her back in a little cameo or at least said that she lives in a nursing home now. I know people passing is a very tough reality but for the sake of the movie, they didn't have to do in poor Grandma Lol.
At least she's in God's house with Jesus, Mary, the Goat, the Long-eared Donkey, and the talking walnut fixing them sandwiches.

reply

That's another thing; just a nitpick. Thurman says his mom is in God' house with Jesus, etc., in both movies, as if he doesn't know what death is. But poor old grandma, he straight up told Willie that she died, as if he understood what the concept of death was.

He went back to the starship "Voyager". Neelix was his best role anyway.

Mr Murman high tailed it to the Cayman Islands after his release from prison to obtain his foreign off shore assets. Can you blame him - would you want to go home to crazy kid with a wooden pickle & crazy mother making sandwiches? Loved Bad Santa 2. Lots of good laugh out loud moments, gasps and chuckles. Nothing is off base. It's crude, rude & fun with a tiny droplet of holiday spirit. Happy Holidays!

reply

Well, his dad might have died or ditched him. He noticed he got robbed so nothing of value left there for him other than to sell the house, possibly.

reply

Was he living with his father? Without his grandmother, no way he could survive unless he lived with his dad.
