The "Guitar Lesson" was really wonderful. I absolutely love the last shot of final film and it is really emotional. I know they made the right decision but this deleted scene is SO heartwarming. I am really glad it was included on the DVD.

shareIt shows a young boy and his mother going into the guitar shop (It still says Del's) where Sam is painting. Sam proceeds to teach the boy how to play the guitar and the scene fades off with paint cloths hanging over the windows of the shop with shadows of guitars shining through. It is lovely. I like the ending they went with but I was glad to see this. Sam appears to be happy, calm and sober. Billy Crudup was just so great in this film.

Thanks. I just watched it. I didn't realize my rental had extras, and I rarely watch them. I had a busy evening last night, but my neighbor had rented it, and insisted I watch it.
(we both used to be musicians. But not drunks...)
It was a nice scene, and cleared up the mystery.
