This was Billy Crudup's best performance, of the films I've seen him in. Of course he had a lot of screen time in Almost Famous and he was very effective in Big Fish, but he carried this movie, I think moreso than Yelchin. He's come a long way since Sleepers.

I was rewatching Sleepers a few months ago and he was actually already pretty fully-formed; the little glances and ticks, accent-work. Well-trained.

You are absolutely right. Crudup and Anton Yelchin had the best chemistry .
