Inevitable comparisons to Lost.

Stuck on an island with mysterious goings-on, surviving by the skin of your teeth, hunting wild boar, etc. It's impossible NOT to think of Lost while playing this game (it's a welcome comparison, however).

I just finished the game today. Really well done, I love the new characterization of young Lara (and the actress who plays her, Camilla, is also a real fox). The game is fun as hell, beautifully well-polished, challenging yet not frustratingly difficult (although a few tombs caught me up). I also really love the fact that this is rated M for violence (poor Lara gets the hell beat out of her) and language (hearing Lara drop the f-bomb perked up my ears) -- you get the feeling they're not holding back at all. I really hope this spawns more sequels of this new, "rebooted" franchise. The last time I had this much fun was with Uncharted 3. Although, the one thing I'll say for Uncharted is that it had more variety (in terms of globe-trotting and environments) while the island locales of Tomb Raider kind of get drab and old after awhile.

Oh well. Onto the multiplayer in order to get my money's worth!

I'm having a lot of fun with this game. I think that along with the comparisons to Lost, the comparisons to the Uncharted franchise are always right there too. Naughty Dog revolutionized the cinematic gameplay, and I keep going back to how Drake did the same things. The cutscene where you have to react quickly, the way she interacts with the surrondings, touching the walls she's close too, the whole squeezing through narrow openings... Very similar. Glad to the the game that influende Uncharted is now being influenced by it. Must be very rewarding!
