This game is what Uncharted 3 should've been..

Uncharted 2 was such an improvement over 1, even though I really liked 1. I know it wasn't that popular before 2 came out, but I liked the journey, the characters, the story, the movie feel of it, Drake was like Han Solo almost, kinda cocky etc. Anyways then 2 added so much more to the series... the levels, story, characters everything. Then 3 came out and apparently I am in the minority, although I really do not get why, but it wasn't that good, I mean as a game it was great, but next installment, it could've done more and better, it had nothing new. I mean there's the scene where he's nearly dying, dehydrated and then boom, he's all good to go. they did the history part which was great, but they should've done more.

Tomb Raider did that, they made it more realistic, the character reacting to everything around her, pushing her hands against rocks when she walks past it, reacting to pain more etc etc. Hopefully for Uncharted 4 they'll do something unique too. Anyways both great series in any case.

I have to disagree about Uncharted 3. I think that it gave Drake a character arc that was lacking from 1 and 2. Don't get me wrong, because the first two are excellent. But the crux of 3 was questioning Drake's obsession and priorities. The other two, he's pretty much the same guy going in as he is coming out.

I've never been a fan of the Tomb Raider series and I'll come out and say I bought this new one because it struck me as being Uncharted-like. But they really feel like two different animals. Tomb Raider really is a no-nonsense survival thriller. And the gameplay never really reminded me of Uncharted other than the wall climbing, but that's not exactly unique to Uncharted.

I agree, as I'm playing Tomb Raider I got the same thought in my mind that this is what Uncharted 3 should of been. I like the game, don't get me wrong, but I would of like more precise shooting mechanics and a more dramatic story telling approach. This being said I'm glad that Tomb Raider isn't just an Uncharted clone and we get two adventure game franchises that feel different from one another but compliment each other quite well. That being said, how awesome (I know it'll never happen) to have a crossover???

The wall climbing isn't unique at all because Uncharted "borrowed" it from previous TR games. Not that that is a bad thing, but it is worth reminding anyone who feels TR copied Uncharted, when truthfully it was the other way around.

Agreed. Uncharted 3 didn't feel like a big leap forward like the second one did sadly.
I never liked to old tomb raider games but I loved this one as it was fluid like uncharted but also had depth as you could level up and upgrade weapons.

For me, Uncharted 3 was exactly what Uncharted 3 should have been. I think it was a logical progression, and there were some lovely little snippets of Nate's backstory that made decisions he made in 1 and 2 suddenly make a lot more sense.

I think the part where he's staggering about dehydrated and then active again is explainable. I think if I was suddenly getting shot at, the extra adrenaline would give me a bump too.

Also, Nate did respond to his environment - he also interacted with walls/doorframes etc as he passed them, and melee was massively improved from the previous games.

I did massively enjoy Tomb Raider though.

Haha I've forgotten about this. No idea what happened. I replayed Uncharted 1 - 3 several months back and then LOVED uncharted 3, thought it was great. I found one of my posts on the uncharted 3 imdb page and wondered what I was on. I think it was just a matter of comparing 3 to 2 too much. But on 2nd play through I realised it was awesome. I still would have liked a bit more on the pushing Sully too far scenario but it was great.

Oh I've had that happen with music albums, it's odd isn't it! I'm glad you enjoyed it in the end though.

Uncharted 3 was absolute trash. A poorly designed game that was clearly built around set pieces, as opposed to serving a story.

The first two games were brilliant tough.

And Tomb Raider put them all to shame.

They thought they were alone...

Uncharted 3 needed more nudity.

Thanks

I own you
