don't know if anyone else agrees but

I am watching this on Speed and its pretty good. My main question how does it compare with Top Gear (USA)? I like the presenters more on this hopefully speed won't cancel this. I may like it but what are others opinion on this show if you've watched it? I give 8 out of 10

Adam Carolla did a pilot for the American version of Top Gear they were making for NBC. It was dropped because Knight Rider sucked ass(seriously). He talked about how funny it was on his podcast a lot, and he probably got a little pissed when History went back and made Top Gear again without him. I just started watching it on my DVR, the intro reminded me of Top Gear immediately, and five minutes in it's already funnier than the history channel version.

I agree 100%! This show is funny and entertaining. I consider myself to be a pretty big car guy and have watched a ton of Top Gear UK, IMO it is just as a good as Top Gear UK, and better than Top Gear USA. The only thing i dont really get is John Salley, he just doesn't seem to add much but maybe he will later in the series... Heres to hoping this show doesn't get canceled!

I like it, compared to Top Gear.

This is what Top Gear USA should have been!
Adam Carolla, Dan Neil, Matt Farah and John Salley are all very likeable, knowledgeable and come together to be quite brill actually.
Top Gear USA does not compare to this show. This show is awesome!

I thought the first episode was good for a pilot. I will definitely be watching again next week. There are a lot of similarities between TCS and Top Gear but in time they should be able to fully differentiate themselves. Its important to remember that a large portion of these shows are scripted and based on the first episode, I would say that Top Gear US has the better writers.

Top Gear UK already did a 24 hour race with their presenters. And because of the editing on The Car Show it wasn't really clear how long they were actually racing. On Top Gear UK it was clear (or at least appeared like) they were actually doing 24 hours. Hopefully the writers can think of original competitions. Top Gear US seems to have the same problem.

Dan Neil is a poor man's James May. And not even close to being half as intelligent. Read some of his WSJ Weekend articles and you will see what I mean.

EDIT: I think the game show portion of the show was also good.

Get rid of Dan Neil and it will be twice as good. I have no idea what John Salley is doing on the show he obviously does not know cars and likes to take the populist approach and agree with everything Neil says, which apparently is: every car should be a hybrid and they are going to win Le Mans next year.

Compared to TG US, Ferrara knows nothing about cars so I guess there is some equality there. I like Foust and Wood better than Salley and Neil, I like Corolla on TCS the other three not so much.

I give TCS a 4.5 as of right now and TG-US a 6.5, FWIW TG UK gets a 9.

I like it, much better then Top Gear US. They need to get rid of that Dan Neil guy who started going on about how he wanted more gov in everybody's lives and was for more parking tickets, he totally lost me there. He should stick to driving a Prius and eating Tofu burgers if that is his outlook since he would not be into performance cars anyway with that kind of attitude. Adam Corolla is good and it is nice he gets to do a car show after not being able to do the US Top Gear. Hopefully the car show lasts and gets more popular. Still nothing beats Top Gear UK.

I watched that episode and don't remember Dan saying anything about wanting more government or more parking tickets?

But I've heard Carolla's rant on parking tickets before and he's just as off-based. I love Carolla, but at a time when most states are running a deficit, they're not going to drop revenue generating processes (parking tickets, speeding tickets) and increase non-revenue generating processes (criminal investigations that are highly expensive and time consuming).

If they get rid of parking tickets, they'll just have to raise taxes on everyone.
