Homeland Season 4 Episode 11. Krieg Nicht Lieb QUESTION? (SPOILER)

When Quinn goes on his quest to kill the terrorist Haissam Haqqani
who executed the plan to attack the US Embassy in Pakistan he
gets ready to blow his car up and Carrie prevents it.

Then a few moments later Carrie is about the take the show to kill
Haissam Haqqani and is stopped by the Pakistani Head of Security
who points to the car and says "look who is in the car".

It turns out to be Dar Adal, and somehow I missed that when I saw
it first time.

What is Dar Adal doing in Haqqani's car?

I don't remember this ever being picked up on or referenced in any
future episodes. Does anyone know what the point of that was?
It sort of implies that Dar Adal has something to do with Saul's
kidnapping and the Embassy attack. What happened?

It was alluded to in the season 4 finale when Saul shows up at Carrie's sister's home. The "hold your fire" order accounts for a great deal of hostilities that develop between Carrie and Saul (laying the groundwork for season 5 in Berlin). The CIA apparently thought that having Haqqani alive, unaware Dar Adal is black ops, was worth the risk of killing untold numbers of Pakistanis, Afghanis, and others. The decision made no sense to Carrie and probably was meant to offend viewers and get viewers to question the morals or lack of them of our intelligence agencies. As a creative decision, it worked and was worth it.

This show is just so great. I'e already watched it 3 time all the way through, and now we get a new season as of last Sunday. I'm crossing my fingers that it will not get caught up in too much stuff going on or trying to be too big.

I have to admit to thinking that if a general in the United States military declared open hostilities and tried to assassinate the President of the United States, for whatever reason, the people, not matter what they thought of the President would demand the death penalty, and get it.

The idea of insulting the President by keeping someone live and apparently admired and a rallying point for civil war would just never fly. So, I am not sure how far off the rails this new season is aimed at going ... I just hope for the best. Carrie Mathieson has not let us down yet. But we have lost a lot of really great characters.

Ah, good and thoughtful reply. I stopped watching at the beginning of Season 6, however. Season 5 would make the sanest human on the planet want to off him/herself, it was so depressing. I couldn't stand anymore.

Up until the end of Season 4, however, the series was brilliant. Have all the DVDs.
