Just after the 1st episode....i had watched and enjoyed the others. Now I see it was nominated for a couple Emmy awards. Not that I take stock in the Emmys ,,,they have a tendency to be way way way to political. And he ignore as do the oscars obvious works on purpose.
But I'm curious... Was it that much better than the 1st 4. Now I'm wondering if I should see it???
I don't see why not, if you liked the first four seasons.
Every season has been nominated for some amount of Emmys; Season 5 is not unusual in that regard.
I know it doesn't make sense does it. I may not have even known that,not that it matters. I gave up on awards shows some time ago. So I just happened to catch that it was up.
I did get behind on everything I was watching ... From Bates Motel to the Vlikings and others,..
I have them on the DVR,but Homeland I made a decision about. I do have another friend that stopped as well. The kiss of death..mob alliance..lol
Anyhow, It is available thru my Showtime on demand,,so I'm going to catch up. I think,partly I was rolling my eyes a bit at the storylines about Carrie pretending she doesn't need this life and her personal problems. But that doesn't really explain it,however.
I hear that the Israeli original is very good. And I'd actually like to see that one.
I've talked,to so many people who haven't liked something really good. And it turned out it was them and their mood at the time. You go back and you see it wasn't what you were watching,..it was you all along.
While I have a love/hate relationship with this show, I've watched it for five years and unless it totally goes off the deep end and goes away totally from the world of spies and the CIA, I'll watch it till the end...I don't usually drop shows five seasons in. While the plot can sometimes get boring, I love the characters and how they are written.
shareSeason 3 was the only weak season in my opinion. However the penultimate episode in season 3 was amazing

shareI found Carrie almost bearable in Season 5. I mean she seemed stable in Her relationship with Jonas she was a decent mother to Francis. I mean there was that moment when she went off her meds and went all coo coo for Cocoa Puffs again but it didn't last. And the whole plot in Berlin was cool.I'm rank the 1st and the 5th Season as the Best yet
